Buttermilk Chocolate Cake

This is Auntie Bessie’s recipe. She still makes it for family get togethers, and we still love it, but she started baking it when my four cousins were small. She says they were forever offering at school “my Mom will make a cake”, and most often this would be the cake she would make!
